SPAM Report Information

With the introduction of the new email system a few new noticeable features have been added. One of the most notable features is the Spam Report you receive every morning about 6am Eastern time.

The first thing to remember, if you do not want this report it can be disabled however you will have to log into the webmail system to retrieve emails that were quarantined by the system.

If you do not wish to receive the Spam Report either contact our support team to have it turned off or login to the webmail system and turn it off from within the options screen (the webmail tutorial has specific information about how to turn this off)

Below is a detailed description of the Spam Report, what it does, and how it will help the server "learn" who you do want email from.

A few important things to know about the Spam Report:

  • You do not need to take any action with the Spam Report unless there is an email you want that is on it. All quarantined items will be deleted after seven days. Attempting to take action against every email on the report will be time consuming and is not the intended use for the report. (24 hrs)
  • The Spam Report only shows the emails quarantined since the last report
  • The Spam report only shows the first email from that address that was quarantined that day. It will not show all of them. Clicking deliver or whitelist will deliver all emails from that address.
  • Blacklisting all spam messages is not recommended. Most spam comes from a different address each time it is attempted. Adding hundreds or even thousands of addresses to your blacklist will only slow server performance.
  • Items are quarantined based on spam trends. People sending you and email about viagra or male enhancement are incredibly likely to be quarantined as over 90% of all emails with these features are spam and not wanted by the user.
  • The Spam Report is one tool the server uses to "learn" who each user wants email from regardless of the content. Every user wants some things and doesn't others, the quarantine system helps the server determine each users needs.

Depending on your screen resolution the report may be conpressed left to right somewhat.
Make sure you maximize the window for best results.
